Sometimes we come across people during the course of our lives that can’t deal with the thought of changing themselves so they project their desire to change on other people.
For instance, maybe someone is unhappy with their marriage so instead of changing their own situation, they continually butt into yours.
Or they are unhappy with their physical appearance so they consistently throw out comments about what you should do to change yours.
Emotional projecting may seem like advice on its surface but it’s not, because it’s not based on the reality of YOUR situation. It’s coming from the skewed perspective of someone who is not, for whatever reasons, dealing with their own present circumstances.
Me personally, I’m tired of the Do as I say, not as I do concept. I try to lead by example when giving advice and I prefer to take advice from people that also lead by example. For me it’s just healthier and safer!
