Do you know who you are? If you have a significant other, do you know who you are without them?

The one thing that unsettled me after my divorce was figuring out who I was and most importantly what I wanted. I spent years helping others get what they wanted and needed and after I found myself alone, I felt lost and confused.

I’m so much happier now that I’ve learned who I am as an individual and what I need irrespective of anyone else. I still help people and enjoy helping people but I don’t lose myself anymore.

How can we take the journey to happiness and self confidence if we don’t take the time to learn who we are as individuals? When I was younger, I tried to live the life everyone else wanted for me. I never felt comfortable in my own skin and I felt like there was just something wrong with me.

It is fine to take advice and guidance from others but take my word for it, you’ll be much happier if you develop a relationship with your honest self so you know what does and does not help you and what does and does not make you happy.
